Her achievements as a young performer in America (which we call Maureen O'Hara today) would certainly put her in the child-prodigy category. However, for an Irish girl who was surrounded by gifted parents and extended family these traits came as a normal. Maureen was born in Ranelagh which was a suburb in Dublin - Ireland, on 17 August 1920. Marguerita FitzSimons' mom, Lilburn, was an contralto. His father, Charles FitzSimons, managed the business of Dublin and also owned part of the well-known Irish football team "The Shamrock Rovers." Maureen FitzSimons placed 2nd in the group of 6 FitzSimons. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara rounded off the gorgeous family. Maureen loved playing rough sports when she was an infant and was extremely adept at it. Her natural ability to perform was a perfect complement to her passion for athletics. As a result, she won the majority of the Feis Awards for dramatic and acting within her own country. At the age of 14, she was admitted to the highly acclaimed Abbey Theater and pursued her dream of classical theater and operatic singing.
