Maureen Denise McCormick is the daughter and youngest child of Richard McCormick. She was born on August 5, 1956, in Woodland Hills California. Her father was an elementary school teacher, while her mother was mother at home. She has three older brothers: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick has always loved singing, dancing and putting on performances with puppets. Her rise to fame as a fairytale began when she was crowned her first Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest when she was 6 which led to a call from an agent for talent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency and asked her if she would like to enter the show industry. McCormick was offered her first significant task in 1964 as she acted in a television commercial for Mattels newest doll Baby Pattaburp. In the following year she appeared in another firm's Chatty Cathy Doll and was quickly chosen to play her role in the La Jolla Playhouse play Wind ItUp And ItBreaks. The Brady Bunch In 1969 McCormick was chosen out of a crowd of over 1500 children who had auditioned to play the eldest of three towheaded girls in the upcoming TV show The Brady Bunch starring Florence Henderson as well as Robert Reed as newlyweds with a blended family. The show ran for five years. McCormick admitted in Heres the Story. Surviving Marcia Brady, and Finding My True Voice (published 2008) that McCormick nearly lost her Virginity in the hands of Barry Williams during the five-year run of the show. The actress was only 16 when the incident occurred; he was 19. She told me that it could have been feasible, but we didn't have the proper moment to make the decision.
